I have seen this jacket online for a good price £23, and am wondering whether it is any good and worth the money?!

does anyone have one?! is it just a boil in the bag jacket or is it reasonably breathable?!

I dont commute but I do cycle 3-4 nights a week and I have noticed how cold it is the past few rides, would this jacket be suitable and not turn me into a sweaty mess or would I be best spending a little more to get something a bit more suited, Montane Velo perhaps? If so please give me your recommendations around £40 max please!!

I have a Cropton and no it's not breathable - at all.

It's nylon and has no armpit zips or back vents or anything. Get sweaty and you're really hot and sweaty - definite 'boil in the bag'

And it's barely waterproof - more than a shower sees it wet through and sticking to you.

On the plus side it's very light and it folds up into its own back pocket, with an elastic belt built in so it's very easy to carry.

I use mine when it's seriously cold and I want a windproof for shortish 30 minutes or so rides, as it's very windproof and it keeps me warm inside it, but I'm not going to be out for long enough to build up a serious sweat.

Or as a backup layer if I'm going-out when it's really cold and want something to put on if I end-up fixing a p*nct*re or something.

I think I paid £15 for mine - you gets what you pay for I guess...

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
+1 - I find mine very useful - especially to keep the cold off at the beginning of a ride over a short sleeve jersey. Folds away really small into its own back pocket and becomes a small soft bumbag.
