Alternative Bike stand

With a need to do a check on my bike gears last night, and not owning a cycle stand to get my bike off the floor, i discovered a cheap useful alternative to a cycle stand.....An ironing Board !
I simply rested the crossbar on the end of the ironing board, and hey presto, i could turn the pedals and make the necessary adjustments, with the flat surface of the ironing board making a useful surface for placing tools etc...and not being married at the moment, it was not a problem with the wife either,!

Another alternative is a hook in the ceiling with something like a pedal toe strap or a loop of rope that you just hook the nose of the saddle into.
