Hey.

Im in the market for a new bag for commuting and general days out.

I currently use an old janspeed bag which is more like a school bag than anything else.
First of all I don't want to spend a lot.
I'll use the bag for commuting the 20 miles a day to work and back.

The most i'll ever need to put in the bag is the following
Work Shoes (9)
Trousers
t-Shirt
Tools, tubes,
Lunch

I like the look of the AlpKit Gourdon 20 but its out of stock grrrrr.
The only thing thats putting me off is id like a small pocket on the inside for keys / wallet / phone etc so that they are easily accessible without having to hunt around the bag for them

So, my plan is to get the Gourdon 20 and Velcro a smaller bag to the top.

Does anyone have the Gourdon 20/25

Are they any good?

It's a good cheap bag. I have one. The lack of pocket is a pain, but you could do something with the mesh side pockets to keep them closed (bit of stick-and-stick velcro maybe). I put keys in them as they are and they've never jumped out.

The most annoying thing about the Gourdon bags is that they seem to be out of stock for about 11 months of the year. I'd have another for the missus, but whenever I look they're not in stock.

I've got a 20 .... and it has been a nice lightweight waterproof bag (now quite a number of years old - one very small hole where it was involved in a fall, and it is still fine). The lack of pocket can be annoying but I have sometimes popped something (nothing sharp) down the external back bit where the padding is. I often find rucksacks uncomfortable due to uneven shoulders and yet this simple rucksack is about the most comfortable one that I own.
