alloy frame scratch...will varnish be ok on it

my bike is a few years old and has a few scratches, I think buying a "chip pen" thingy is not really needed....will nail varnish cover up and protect the tiny exposed bits of the frame ok ?

nail varnish is either acrylic or cellulose based paint, I've used it to touch up stone chips on cars so I would say yes , go for it.
