So, I have a new bike (Raleigh Mission (?) from Argos) and Ive got the things I need (shiny new Bell helmet, drinks bottle, mini pump, under-saddle bag) but Ive got a couple of issues.

1) The water bottle holder bolts on the bike are under the frame and I can work out how I can use it there without putting it on "upside down". Is this right? I *might* be able to mount it the righ way up if I find a smaller water bottle...

2) On my 2nd time out, the back tyre moved and is rubbing on the frame. I've had a look at moving it, but one side also has a screw that holds the gearing system. Do I simply loosen the nut on the other side and wiggle the wheel until its straight and then tighten it up?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, if you have no clue, take it to your local bike shop to be set up safely for use.

Do you have quick release or old school nuts? Either way it sounds loose. Just centre it and tighten. Check the front too, as well as the stem and saddle.

Drinks holders afix to either the 'saddle tube' or diagonal one facing up. If its a cheap holder, the bolts might not be long enough and that's why it doesn't fit.

Pay the 20 quid or so for a basic set up to be safe though

I got old skool nuts (fnar fnar). I'll give it a go an lunch and see if I can get it looking straight.

The attachment point is on the diagonal from the peddles to the front forks.
Its not that is doesnt fit, its that if I fit it pointing up, there is no way I could get a water bottle in. Very odd.

I've just Googled your bike (this?). It looks like you won't be able to attach your bottle holder very easily. It might be worth seeing if you can get one which fits behind the seat, or on the bars.

Looking at a photo of the bike, I think the mounting under the tube is for a MTB style mudguard not a water bottle. If you don't have a suitable mounting, you can get bottle holders that attach to the seat post or handlebars, eg

http://www.jejamescy...er-id47131.html

Ha ha, I think you are right looking at it again. Classic school-boy error on my part. I did wonder what had happened in the last 15 years to make it possible to hold a drinks bottle upside down!

I'll investigate a better place to mount the bottle.... thanks for the link!

I like this one:

"Now, the reason why this was such a wrong purchase to make is that it was firstly the quality of the product which was completely and utterly poor. The frame of the bike was appauling as the suspension was not at good use and was wasting space on the bike. The number of problems i had with the bike in the first two weeks was an obomination. If you are looking for advice i say you should click x on the top right of the screen open a new window and type in the halfords in the google search engine here you will fing the top noch bikes which dont mess up in the first two weeks of purchase."

They look like attachments for a water bottle cage to me, if you have a cage already do the bolts line up with the holes on the cage? if they do you may be better off with a side access cage http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&so...lamIDw&usg=AFQjCNHBTigFRjXfWMr9KjFC3zpLUCqa4w

Yes! simply undo both bolts & straighten up the rear wheel.

Thanks in advance.

You're welcome
