Can anyone tell me how much my old Alexrims s480 700c wheels on my secteur weigh? I'm looking to get an upgrade. And no I can't weigh them at home!! Thanks.

Why do you want to know? Are you trying to 'upgrade' with 'better' wheels of the same weight or with lighter wheels? Does it matter how heavy the current wheels are? Or are you planning to rebuild your current hubs with new rims? What are the hubs, by the way? Might be able to deduce the wheel weights from that. How will you know what the 'upgrades' weigh, if you "can't weigh them at home"? Are you going to take the seller's word for it?

Lots of the questions. I was just looking to go with some lighter wheels and I therefore would like to know for comparison purposes.

Re the hubs, I don't know. Spesh website says they are forged aluminium, sealed bearing, 32h. I am fully planning to take the seller's word re weight of new wheels, combined with reviews, threads on here about wheel upgrades, etc...

So to be clear, the only reason you want to know how heavy your wheels are is so that you can say that your new ones, whichever ones you choose, are lighter, and by how much. Why not weigh your current ones at home? At least then you'll know 'the troof'.

His OP says he can't weigh them at home. I think this calls for some quality MacGyvering to work out a way of weighing them. Has anyone got a swiss army knife?

I weigh mine on a digital kitchen scale..

They are pretty general purpose wheels in the Spesh range, would have thought 2 to 2.2kg

I was going to say around the 2kg for the pair. Tyres make a big weight difference too.
