Alex rims 700c wheel

Can anyone tell me the difference between an Alex Rim DH19 and a Alex rim DP17.

I have yet another rear wheel spoke broken on me today on my Bontrager hybrid wheel. That's about 6 over about 6 months so I have decided to call it a day and order a new wheel.

I read reasonable reviews for Alex rimmed wheels, and as I am forced to use thew budget end of the market these don't look too bad, I am just wondering the difference between the two wheels.

Don't know, but the Panorama came with DH19's as std, when I was researching I came across a worrying number of failures (cracked/split rims) and bought a set of hand built mavic 319's on XT hubs for touring. Having said that other than loose spokes I personally have had no problems with the DH19's using them as winter wheels.

Can't comment on those models but I have had Alex Rims S500's and they were terrible. Well the rear one constantly going out of true and I am not over weight. I just got fed up of it and binned them and got Mavic Aksium's which have been trouble free. Just my opinion/experience of a different model but I will try to avoid in the future. The budget Shimano wheels seem to be pretty good.

Why not just get wheel rebuilt with new spokes/nipples. If hub is ok then this is cheapest option.
