I plan to pick up one of the front lights & some Muc-Off

Depending on how much muc off you use Aldi isn't great value. Equivalent of £7 per litre but if ordered online you can usually get 10 litres for £20. Me and a mate usually go halves.

The USB light looks identical to a Planet X Houldsworth light that had a much higher quoted output. Might buy one just to compare.

I used the light in anger - not as bright as a Moon XP300 but fine for city riding or the occasional unlit country lane thing. It has three flashing and three steady modes. Seems well made, has a metal heat-sink head. It does have a narrow spot like beam rather than a more useful peripheral flood though.

Fantastic light for the price, will be using it as a back-up 'to be seen' light, but will also be a good emergency 'to see with' light too if my main light dies. Really impressed how bright it is for just £6.99!!. The silicon mounting also seems nice and tight when on the bars. The only thing it doesnt tell you on the packaging is the runtime though. Anyone had one long enough to test this?.

The Planet X version is currently £8 plus postage, so it is a bargain. I have used one as a back up for a year with no complaints.

I bought one of the lights today. Nearly as bright as a Volt 400 we have. No idea how long it will last yet but for such a tiny light it's pretty good.
