I previously had a Clarks branded one from MachineMart for about £25....only lasted 4 years, then just stopped working for no obvious reason so I got a Chinese one off e-bay - looks identical, has been fine so far. Would be definitely be getting one of these from Aldi otherwise.

Very useful tool IME.

I bought some several years ago from Aldi, and they have been well used and at times abused in the garage.

They are still going strong!

OK that's me sorted on Sunday
Buff, compression undies and calipers.

Best buy some food while I am in there so Mrs C doesn't think I just went in for cycle stuff.

I have 3 pairs of the " Parkside" branded version from Lidl, and they are identical to the one's shown there from Aldi.

The calipers are accurate, and my first pair that I bought almost 5 years ago are still going strong on the original battery. I use two pairs on a daily basis in my workshop, and one pair at home. Every 3 months or so I have them checked at a local precision engineering works on several size of Eclipse and Mitutoyo calibration blocks. They have proven to be accurate ± 0.02 mm even after being dropped on to the steel topped work bench, or concrete floor, and left on the bench top while I have been Mig, Tig, stick welding and Plasma cutting: I thought that the currents earthing through the work pieces and bench would have ruined the calipers, but they haven't.

Did anyone else think he meant brake calipers?

Yip!!!

......I've got the Workzone one's in my toolbox at work - mostly used for measuring oil seals and bearing sizes. They're good for the price and reasonably accurate.
