Aldi are doing a 3W torch on Thursday, coupled with one of those 'fit-all' brackets it might be useful for winter/night riding.

If it's like everything else I've bought from there, it'll probably last well.

For a tenner I'd say it could be. Just check it over. Best cheap one I ever found was the Tesco one. I have 2x the 3W Cree, and 3x the 1w that takes the AAs.

It struck me as a cheap backup for an expensive light, or even a good bright front light for those on a budget now Tesco have stopped doing their 3W'ers.

Find your fattest NiMh rechargeable.

Take it down to Aldi and try it in the torch. If it doesn't go in ( just like the Tesco jobbie ) put the torch back on the shelf.

I've just got a P7 Lenser for £34 from Amazon, 200 lumens. 4 x AAA NiHm 1000mAhr last 1hr 35 mins.
