I picked up a tiny little rape alarm from Lidl last week with the intention of fitting it to the up and over garage door. 120db loud enough to maybe deter the casual bike nicker. Just as an experiment I stuck it in the saddlepack and attached a length of fishing line to the pin which when released sets off the alarm and wrapped that around the gatepost by the bike. You could barely see the fishing line even when looking. Pulled the bike away and hey presto .. lots of noise. Hmm, I thought it was a good idea so I thought I'd mention it here It's quite difficult the track down the exact whereabout of tiny alarm unit cos the screeching sounds like its coming from everywhere. £3 well spent I thought.
