As in here - been brought to my attention from another cycling place.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144120248710?hash=item218e3c7986:g:Uw0AAOSw2Fpg~~GH

Anyone know anything about them/the quality/provenance of their bits?

Says made in Taiwan on that cassette I think.

Says a UK family business though some of the flowery description looks rather like the stuff you get on some chinese ebay pages - maybe just copied.
(before anyone barges in I know you can be a brit and chinese)

Wouldn't normally use any cassette but Shimano (have had the odd foray into SRAM) but things a bit short at the mo and to give them credit they are not claiming to be Shimano.

A few weeks back I looked at their web site and the address on the site appears to be a residential address on Google Street view

https://www.air-bike.co.uk/contact - Air Bike Forks Limited, 208 Sinclair Drive,

https://www.google.com/maps/place/A...0a03978b7d796cc!8m2!3d51.2667279!4d-1.0965467

But they also say on their site We also have a warehouse in Basingstoke where we hold all our stock, as we DO NOT DROPSHIP!!.

in wonky english I assume that means that they are not just a UK front for a chinese warehouse (you do sometimes get UK ebay addresses for outfits flogging stuff which is quite clearly coming from china or at least outside the UK - with consequent delays.

Must say I was intrigued by their claim to have 24/7 customer support.

It does say that that cassette is made in Taiwan though - isn't Taiwan usually associated with decent stuff?

could it be "production run-offs" of some sort?

I wouldn't dream of buying a bike or fork (not that I'm into suspension) from such a place - just interested in the cassettes.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Looks OK to me; you often get UK importers of Chinese-made items that then store and sell on a low scale.

They've a "warehouse" i.e a shed/garage. Someone a few doors down is running an eBay warehouse from their home address - it's a lean-to wooden shed on the side of their house.

Decent rating, copied description, but I'd not have an issue buying from them. If I did then my listings look awful

interesting reply DC as you seem to know your stuff.
I have actually ordered that cassette as I need a spare laid up for the Hewitt and they are hard to come by at the moment.
It's coming free click and collect to the local sainsburys.
Will be a while before I fit it and can report back on it though.

I trust your english is better DC.
There is a distinct whiff of chinese about their listings so they are either chinese folk in britain or brit brits with a dodgy grasp of english and copyediting and so have uncritically copied stuff wholesale.

It's all those extravagant flowery over the top hymns to the wonder of the product.

in particular this:

"Ride proudly with a high-end appearance"
