Tonight was our club's first "Aussie Pursuit" training night, only 1 lap (11 miles) rather than 2 when lighter.
I cycled down (6 miles) in a mega wind, rode with the slow group, got gently dropped after about 5 miles, had a pain in my lower left back and generally got fed-up with the chuffing wind.
11 miles covered at 18.5 mph average on a flat course...it's a start I suppose, 6 cold miles home. Seemed flipping hard work, best is 22 miles at an average of 20 mph, not mega performance, but need to keep my HR down due to dodgy ticker.
Roll on the next session!
Now to devour half a box of cornflakes before bed!
