Aesthetics question

Not really a technical question more one about looks.
A black stem fits on to a steel steerer, at the back of the stem is a gap that you can see the steerer through, Does this bother anyone else besides me and if so what have you done about it?

That's pretty serious. I'd say it's time for a new bike.

Buy a full carbon fork and smile every time you look down at the eye candy carbon, knowing you beat the system.

Or, just a thought wrap the offending steel/ali steerer tube in faux carbon vinyl, then gaze in wonder safe in the knowledge you saved money and everyone else thinks you have carbon.
