Disclaimer! This is NOT a thread about whether a helmet is required! Please don't spoilt the honest question?

Anyway, I am looking at maybe replacing my Giro helmet and thinking of getting something better shaped and like the look of the new Aero styled helmet. Not expecting to gain performance wide, but interested in views from people who have any of the following or experience of something else that I have not seen:

Specialized Evade
Kask Infinity
Kask Protone
Giro Air Attack

I want the lid to be cool enough in hot weather, but also warmer in the cold weather, if possible, and the Infinity looks like the only one that could do that, based on the opening and closing vent assembly.

I like the look of the Evade best though. Matte Black being my chosen option. Maybe even in CVNDSH guise, as that doesn't have so much graphics on it.

What do you guys think?

As regards other suggestions, have you had a look at Casco Speed Airo?

I went through the same process a while ago, I wanted a sportier helmet to go with the Giro "Aspect"

Having used a Rudy Project helmet with visor many years ago, and did not get on with the visor, so the Air Attack with visor was out for me (Same with the Bell version).

The Kask Infinity and Protone have a "lip" at the front vents which I was worried would act as a "snag point, so I excluded them

I had a look at the POC Octal, but I found it heavier and bulkier and seemed "warmer" even in the shop

So I settled on the Evade, which has been fine, even on a couple of the warmer days

The only "bug" that I have is that the straps are not fully alterable, with the "triangle" of the straps is fixed, with the front and rear straps "bonded" to the plastic "Y" piece. Adjustment for tightening is OK, but you cannot alter the position of the chin stay.

I am lucky that this is OK for me, but do try one on as another purchaser in the shop found that the straps mad the under chin position uncomfortable

I know it is always advised that you should try a helmet on before buying, but it is even more essential with this strap design.

I will seek out a shop with these on display first, but looking solely online the Evade looks like the choice at present. Will want to try on, more so now, based on your review of the straps. How is it heat wise?

I have the Evade and on my first ride I noticed it was hotter than my kask vertigo . It would be though as it has less vents . Anyway I thought it would be a problem but I haven't really noticed it being hot since then .
