After years of exclusively using specialized's highly regarded S-Works Prevail which I found to be light and comfortable. I have recently purchased Specialized's new aero helmet the S-Works Evade.

Here a picture showing the comparable dimensions of the evade compared to the privail.

The evade features a Kevlar-reinforced Inner Matrix to trim some weight and dial up the crush dynamic. The helmet also featues dual density EPS foam. It’s worth noting that unlike many helmet designers, Specialized does their own expensive verification tests for stately. The CPSC, SNELL B90A, CE and AS/NZS safety standard tests were all passed without issue.

On the head the Evade sits slightly lower compared to the Prevail. Both helmets offer a high level of adjustability and they are shipped with additional pads for comfort should you require them. Based on appearence alone you would think that the Evade was not well vented compared to the Privail and other helmets, however this is not the case. Specialized claim a lot of work has gone into the ventilation of the Evade, I have no idea if this is the case but the helmet most certainly feels as we'll vented as any helmet I have ever worn.

Specialized claim this helmet provides measurable gains based on its aero, I have no idea if it does but one noticeable trait is the wind noise around the ears has reduced over the prevail. I'm not aware if this is aero related but it makes sense.

All in all a great looking helmet, which is exceptionally comfortable and meets and exceeds the highest standard. If your on the market for a great helmet you can't go wrong with an evade or privail.. £160 is what they both retail for.

I'm happy owning both

nice lookin peice of kit. - nice to see helmet tech being taken seriously.

and at £160 it will act as real deterent to smacking your head, go for a broken arm or shoulder they is cheaper to fix than a new helmet.

What are you on about? Smacking your head isn't a great idea in any helmet. 6weeks minimum off work is not cheaper than £160.

Anyway - if any of us could predict how a crash will happen we'd be retired millionaires by now.

My Prevail cost £160 so I thought it was reasonable for the Evade given the tech in it to be the same price.
The stuff that's in my head is worth a lot more and allows me to earn enough money to pay £160 on a helmet

Hey

Are both your helmets the same size? My current LBS only has the prevail and the evade would probably take another 2 months. Can I use the sizing cut of the prevail as a reference for evade?
