Advice.

My bottom Bracket is on its way out.
I have a replacement but I am not getting a crank puller until tomorrow.
The sun is shining and I don't have to pick up my son from school until 3 so I want to go for ride.
There is some side to side play and it feels gritty.
Should I go for a ride or just leave it until the BB is replaced, do they just fail or is it a slow process?
