I am a fairly new rider having started in January this year. I currently ride a Cube Tonopah or Specialised Crosstrail Comp, the cube I got second hand and despite a few issues runs very well and is pretty quick. The Specialised however I don't get on with, too heavy and regretting I bought it currently so I am looking to move to a road bike and was seeking some advice.
Firstly I have a budget of up to £1000, ideally I would like a road bike that is light and pretty responsive that can be used for daily commutes, weekend rides and in the future a triathlon or two that I'm beginning to train for without being too uncomfortable. Another preference is for it to be less "mainstream" looking than a specialised. From looking myself I love the looks of Bianchi's, Moda's and Fuji's so was really looking for advice from people that have ridden these bikes.
Also any suggestions on a cheap introductory cleat system I may be able to get for the new bike and if they are likely to fit size 13 (uk) feet?
About me: 6' 4" and 18.5 stone (dropping quite quickly)
