Hi all! I've been cycling (commuting 12 miles a day) for about 9 months, and have done about 2500 miles.

I've got a 2011 Trek 7.0FX Women's Hybrid - http://www.evanscycles.com/products/trek/70-fx-2011-womens-hybrid-bike-ec025530#features

I have been advised to replace the chain and cassette as the chain has stretched to 1.0 (not sure about the cassette, not very bike repair minded). The question is, which chain / cassette should I purchase? The product specs on Evans list the standard parts the bike came with, so do I just need to get the same? Or are there better things to get? I don't do much maintenance, so I'd be willing to spend a few extra pounds on something that will last longer. But at the same time, the chain the bike came with is cheap and has lasted well, so that might just well do.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

what to replace with is probably a personal preference but I like to swap my original shimano parts for SRAM; I find the SRAM cassettes give a better gear ratio and their chains 5-6-7, 8 & 9 speed chains have quick links which is quicker and less complicated for fitting/removal.

I suspect that theres not much choice, the cassette on your bike is also mega range which cuts it down further. SRAM PC830 chains are a good buy though and have the quicklink as Hlab pointed out.
