Saddles for a young girl (10), relatively tall, about 150cm, any recommendations?

She has had no bothers up until now but has started using a turbo trainer and rollers and is finding it uncomfy on the bikes stock saddle (not a female specific saddle).

Cheers me dears,
Johnny

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
Mine is a specialised Riva its fab and very comfy on my Dolce.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Can I interrupt the decent advice and point out that what's right for an adult female may not be right for a 10-year-old girl. Her anatomy may well be very different - one of the things that happens at puberty is a widening of of the pelvis, which includes the famous sit-bones.

I'd be inclined to do the usual test for sit-bone width (sit her on something which retains its shape and measure), then look at narrow racing saddles for slim adult men. Either that, or give someone like Isla Bikes who specialise in kids' bikes a call. And then keep monitoring over the next few years as she grows up.

yep, she is only going to grow bigger and hips wider. Have been looking at saddles in narrow widths, but female specific, and we are currently trialing a WSD Bontrager Evoke in the narrowest size.

So far so good...

Don't restrict yourself to looking at women's specific saddles. I actually get on better with the stock saddle on my mtb - men's, a specialised phenom expert on my touring bike (a man's saddle) and the stock saddle on my road bike - also a man's saddle. I have quite narrow hips & sit bones - tough obvious not as narrow a your daughter's and find women's saddles quite uncomfortable.

If you have a specialized concept store near you, whilst more expensive to purchase the saddle in-store, they will measure her sit bones (by getting her to sit on a bit of foam) and if you take her bike with you, they will fit as many saddles as you want to her bike and let her try them in-store. Also any saddle you purchase from them as a 30 day free returns option with it if she does not get on with it. Something I have made use of - just keep the 'card' the saddle came on and the receipt.
