Just started cycling again after a 50 year lay off (I am 71). Got myself a Sirrus comp hybrid and was wondering if anyone could recommend me a pair of cycling shoes. I do not want clips or cleats at my age but the trainers I am currently wearing are getting old so looking for something new. Are there any cycling shoes to fit the bill or should I just get a pair of trainers?

That's not old. You should see the old farts on here.

You ideally need a touring shoe like the Specialized Sonoma

Check out the Exustar range. They have shoes that are like "old fashioned " cycling shoes. They take concealed SPD cleats but can be worn without and don't need any clips on the pedals, if that is what you prefer.

Thanks for the feedback folks, looks like a pair of trainers with a flattish/firm sole is going to be best for me then.
