The Olympic Road Cycling Road Race is fast approaching, with the men's race coming to the district on 28 July and the women's on 29 July. It is expected that crowds will travel to Mole Valley from far and wide on race weekend. If you were planning to travel into the district to watch the race from the Box Hill loop, Dorking or Leatherhead, there are some travel considerations to be aware of:

- There will only be a limited number of bicycle parking spaces in Dorking and Leatherhead
- Rail operators are not allowing passengers to travel with bicycles on their trains during the Olympic period
- There will be extensive road closures and parking restrictions in place in Mole Valley from early in the morning until early evening on race days. Road closures will be in place from 4am on 28th and 6am on 29th

Due to planned traffic restrictions, many of the council’s car parks will have restricted access over the race weekend. However, Mole Valley District Council has put in place 3,000 parking spaces at 4 Council-managed car parks in Dorking and Leatherhead; all of which are within walking distance of the race route. In addition, Mid Surrey Pony Club are offering tickets to park on their land at Walton on the Hill in Tadworth over the weekend too. To book your ticket or for further information on the car park sites, opening times, prices and Terms & Conditions, please visit www.molevalley.gov.uk/london2012.
