Hi Shaun, with the adverts on the site before I log in, do you get a few pence if I click on them (without buying stuff)?
If so, I'll click on loads so you get some ££ to help on the upkeep of a great site

Thanks for wanting to help Pete - much appreciated - but please do not do that. It will be viewed as click-fraud and will likely lead to our account being closed and the loss of all ad revenue from all of our forums.

The best way for anyone to help CC grow (and revenue to increase ) is by creating lots of new threads here and by posting web links back to CC from your own sites, blogs or social spaces.

NB: You could also try bribing clubmates with cake ... it would work on me ...

Hi Pete.

Whatever you do, don't do that!

1. It defrauds the advertisers; they would effectively be handing money to Shaun for nothing. They are not stupid - they will be monitoring how effective their ads are and will pull their advertising from the site as soon as they notice what is going on.
2. Google, and the other advertising networks are also extremely vigilant and would soon notice unusual click activity. They would at the very least disallow a big percentage of any clicks that the ads got. Worst-case scenario would be that Shaun got blamed for it and got banned from the networks. Unless the rules have been changed, there is no right of appeal against a Google ban, and such bans are for life!

If you want to help bolster Shaun's finances, the right way to do it is to buy something through one of the ads!
