I was having an issue with my chain rubbing the front derraileur guard when it was on the largest chainring. Being a novice in the derailleur department I had a tentative look! I loosened the cable to the front derailleur and tightened it a little. I think I've sorted the catching issue, but now when I pedal backwards, the chain jumps and doesn't go around the chain rings smoothly. Before I take my bike in to be looked at, can anyone suggest what the issue is and what I can do to sort it and prevent a trip to the bike shop on Friday?
