Evening Guys

My new road bike has just arrived, i have now completed putting it together but havent been out on it yet.

But i am already thinking about adding cyclo cross levers to the hoods, just for added safety and comfort.

Do i need to put them inline with the current levers or can i just add another cable run and use them independantely??

Cheers
Chris

Here for rides.
never seen anyone using them unless they were inline...

fitting instructions can be found on the park tools website.

I think you're talking about interupter levers, which work on the brake cable outers, so they need to be installed at the same time as the normal brakes.

Interrupters do indeed work on pulling the cable through the outers, but they don't need to be installed at the same time as "normal" brakes. I have them on my Tricross, and use them frequently so I fitted a set to my Secteur. I fitted new cables when I did it, although that's only because I could as I was doing the work in my LBS, you wouldn't need to do so.
