Has anyone done the York 100 (km/miles) before, organised by Action Medical Research?

It looks interesting (and I'm free) - but a £50 entry fee is quite a bit, even for charity:

I did it yesterday and really enjoyed it. I did the sponsored version so paid £28 to enter it. It was my first event of any kind on the bike and it was really well organised and friendly. I only did the 100k this year but will do the 100 mile next year.
