Last winter I fell badley on the ice, full 16stone on my bad left knee. On crutches for 3months.
Very painful to try to walk. The doc said seems though you are a cyclist, do a bit cos the bones
are suspended and all the stress is on the muscles. After a week I could walk without the crutches.
So I looked into exercising that did the same. Eureka!!! Skipping would you believe.
You lift from the balls of your feet and land on the balls of your feet.
When I started I could do 60 jumps in 1min. Now I can do 150 jumps in a minute for 20mins.
Talk about strengthening your legs, buttocks and shoulders
 
Fully agree!

Skipping is a great exercise. And if you can manage 5 minutes twice a day, you'll soon see a huge difference in your stamina and new finely-toned muscles.

I had suggested to my other half that skipping would be a good way to keep fit duirng his overnight hotel stays with work but not sure if he will quite have the same technique she has! ;)

I was addicted to skipping, got some really cool speed ropes.
The only problem i had, i could only do it in the garden on our patio. The hard surface took its toll on my joints and muscles after time. I had to stop running and skipping due to the pain i was in.
But, it really sorts the men from the boys. really hard excercise, but people still look at it as a cissy thing, even though boxers do it!!
Only back to running now, the skipping has taken a back seat for a while until i can sort out a softer surface to do it on. I was doing all the neat little trick too....My kids loved watching me.
