A strava question

I recently slipped a disk in my back , part of my getting back to normal was to ride my bike which I record on strava . At my return to work interview with my boss he mentioned that I had been out on 20 mile cycle ride ( was realy a 20k ride ..... Not a huge distance) and asked why I was cycling when signed of sick.

As nobody at work follows me how would they find out that I have been on ride ? Can someone follow me without me knowing ?

I think people can view you via your 'vanity something' which can be found in your account settings.
That aside, if cycling is part of your recovery plan, and presumably this is physio led, what's the problem?

If your account isn't set to enhanced privacy anyone can see what you're up to in limited detail without actually following you.

If your strava user name is your real name, anyone can do a Athlete Search on strava and find your profile.

Tell him its Physiotherapy to cycle in order to return to work sooner.

If you do not set request to follow ANYONE with a strava account can watch what ever you do.

Unless when you finish every ride you get the chance to click PRIVATE before uploading.

When skiving, ALWAYS click private before uploading.

If you are signed off work by a doctor what you do is nothing to do with your boss. I would tell him that you find this an abuse of your privacy. What you are advised to or not to do by your doctor is private. Tell him that if he has a problem then he can send you to occupational health and let them deal with it. I would be livid.

You should ride a route, recorded by Strava, which the tracking line tells him to "GO AWAY", but maybe not worded as nicely. And when he brings it up; tell him it was a coincidence, and ask what he is doing stalking you.

Its alright i had to do a year of college thisyear and would often stop off for a nice ride, a few of the tutors had strava and followed me, i just couldnt care less tbh haha they shouldnt have been stalking me anyway!
