A Sealed BB and a C & C BB

I need to replace the bb on my Applo MTB as there is to much play in it . i have a cup and cone bb which i took off a road bike can i fit this to my MTB to replace the sealed BB ?

forgot to mention i will also have the same cranks , chainset and pedals that were fitted to the cup and cone bb

It's doubtful if the road chainset and BB will give the same chain-line needed for your MTB. A simpler course of action would be to remove the sealed BB and take it to your lbs for a direct replacement. That would ensure that the BB fits your present chain-set and give you the same chain-line.
