As above, I have a Samsung Galaxy android.
On eg CC, when I post I can add emoji no problem.
When I send a text and try to add an emoji I get a message telling me I would have to switch to the Samsung keyboard.
So........ Why is my Samsung phone Not already using a Samsung keyboard?
What other keyboard could I be using?
Should I switch?

Can I answer my own questions ^_^
My grandson has sorted it.
Apparently, for some reason, I was on a Microsoft keyboard.
He has switched it to the Samsung one and imo it is easier to use.

Not a direct answer but worth mentioning. With my phone contract, if I send a text (as opposed to an iMessage or WhatsApp message) then adding an emoji means it’s treated as a picture message and charged as not part of my package.

Maybe don’t send emojis as part of a text?

I have a Samsung Galaxy phone, if you add an emoji to a text it reduces the number of characters available to 70, if you go over that it converts into a chargeable mms message. I just use WhatsApp most of the time & can send pictures, files & emojis using data without any extra charges.

Again, a good point. I use WhatsApp all the time apart from the odd person who doesn't have it.
