A right Royal arrival

Well I opened the garage door's to a couple of Raleigh's this week.

No 1 is an 80's Royal which looks to have had an easy life so far. To get it mobile again it needed a pair of tyres. It will also get some fresh grease in the head set and bottom bracket and cables. So far its covered 6 miles and rides sweet .

Looking forward to getting a few more miles in on this .

Hasn't got the double mounting eyes on fr fork and rear drop outs like the Randoneur

I think they had a 34t freewheel originally, that must've been pretty rare in early 80s!

5 speed 32t on the back and a 36 inner on the front. Malliard freewheel and a bit clunky but they ride nice. Mine's an 85.

must admit wish this one was an 1" bigger

hence why i have the sks clip ons as well for test miles
