I have been trawling the internet for my first road bike and have come across a scott speedster s50 2006 model for £250, i was just wondering is that a reasonable price for a bike that looks in good condition and said to have done 150 miles? Thanks

if it genuinely has done a low mileage (which should be apparent) - and on the basis that you might get it for closer to £200, then I'd be inclined to say yes...

Well his listing price was £300 but managed to haggle him down to £250. Thanks for the advise!

it's probably still worth it, tbh - the Speedster frame gets good reviews, so you will be getting a very capable bike for the money...

Should I wear a Helmet or not.........

To the OP if its this http://www.damianharriscycles.co.uk/prod/rac_0053_sc/Scott/Speedster-S50-::-24-Speed then provided it is low mileage, well looked after and fits then £ 250 is not bad but you could probably get a 2011 bike for less than 599 if you hunted the internet and found something even cheaper perhaps you could use the extra five years as a bargaining tool to drive him down a bit more......I have seen a 10 month old secteur go for around 50% of rrp.

Depends who has had it, some folk will do that in a day/week/month but other folk will buy it with good intentions of getting fit but never actually do. Its like folk joining a Gym as part of their New Year resolution but despite it costing them they never use it; it happens ;)
True
