Jeepers! I thought that was a cartoon-fish from the pic, but the Nat Geog film seems genuine... not dated April 1st either.
What the hell would be the evolutionary advantage in having a see-through head? Mind you, would be kinda fun...

Apparently it's eyes are tubular and the transparent head allows it to see in more directions than usual!

I'd go along with Kirsties anthropomorphic view of it too.

According to the video at the bottom of the page, the dark spots where the eyes would normally be are it's olfactory organs.
