Not another...... better off going down to the local garden centre for a ride on the model trains and a visit to Santa with a toy for less than £5.

Exactly...But idiots will queue up to handover their (credit crunch) cash and then bleat to Trading Standards that they were 'ripped off'.

If you are willing to part with £100+ for a family car full to go to some deserted field off the M6, and wander round a few hastily erected marquee's sprinkled in artificial (toxic?) snow, gaze longingly at some mangy Alsations and kid yourself that it is 'Lapland', then you desreve to lose the cash.

I agree, but the website did totally misrepresent the event. None of the pictures on the website were from the actual site!

My point is that Lapland is in northern Scandinavia, not just outside Stoke (or in the New Forest). Besides, even if there was a 'glossy' website, I would want to hear word of mouth (or internet forum advice) about how good it was before parting with my cash.

whats wrong with going to the local areas where its all dressed up with Christmas decorations, most local churches and their function halls will have a santas grotto, far better than some mass conveyor belt of impersonal crap.

That photo makes "Lapland - New Forest" look high class and value for money entertainment

Yes, me too, but when they set out to deliberately deceive people it's less surprising when some people get taken in.

I think these places are almost all rubbish, even the long established ones. They never maintain them properly and they always end up junk yards with sad animals.

If anyone's been to northern european cities like Brugge, Dresden, Nuremburg et al, they will know what a 'Real' Christmas market is.

And anyone that's been to Lapland will also happily tell people what Lapland is like.

People who part with their money to attend hastily erected tents in a field off the M6 will get just that.

Common sense please.

What surprises me is that with the latest one, the council will not be able to get an injunction to shut it down before Xmas. In the meantime the place will be overrun with ripped off muppets who have not learnt from the first one.

If they are too stupid to learn from other people's misfortune, they deserve to lose their cash. If they did learn from other people's misfortune, there'd be no need for an injunction.
