Today my company had a charity event riding from Wakefield to Manchester and taking in a chunk of the TdF day 2 route, including Holme Moss - around 140 of us did the 50 mile ride http://www.strava.com/activities/160821607
As we got into Huddersfield, we came across a group of riders in the Omega Pharma Quickstep kit. They weren't going very fast so a couple of us went past them. We then stopped at the next red lights. I turned around and was face to face with Cav and presumably the rest of the OPQS team who were obviously training on the Day 2 route,
The lights changed and we set off together. We let ( ) them through and sat behind them for a few miles. I got dropped on an upslope but had enjoyed the few miles together.
Unfortunately they had dropped me before Holme Moss as I would have liked to see how fast they did it - or even better how fast they descended the other side.
Still - a nice story.
