We used to have one of those just a couple of miles away from my house.
Not sure if it is still intact as a new road was built either over it or very near. Most likely filled in now.
I was in it once as I was contracted to provide photographs of the ROC personnel.

that's beautiful! I was staying in the Lakes last month, what about this for a pad on the edge of lake windermere?

My dad's mate spent some time in those ROC's , they weren't expected to survive the attack. All they were expected to do was help triangulate which places were hit by warheads.

I doubt it. I wouldn't be surprised if it needed a fire escape (other than the ladder), a fresh water supply and a few other things. A chap near where I used to live did a barn conversion which was wonderfully done, had all the mod cons, and was near a main road. But they would only give permission for people to live there for 3 months of the year, so he had to just let it out to holiday makers
