I have had my cycling shorts for about a year now and in the past few months they have become very tight / stiff and uncomfortable. I wash them every day after my cycling stint could it be the chlorine in the water that is the cause of the problem i got them from sports direct for a much reduced £8

Have you considered bib shorts? Its not ideal to have the wasteband of the short cutting into your gut area. With bib shorts it cuts out the compression around the gut. Incidentaly Ive had a pair of addidas ep bib shorts for 6 years and apart from fading they are still providing a good service. I have two pair each gets washed every other day 5 days a week

To be honest, if you've had them a year and used/washed them every day (and cost just £8), I'd say they'd been very good value for money and invest in some new ones.

I think the clue is in the £8, sports direct, and Karimor tbh.

I also have a couple of pairs of these, bought as my first venture into lycra, and after later buying Some dhb shorts I can honestly say the karimor are poor.

How many hours do you ride each day to need to wash them EVERY day?

Washed day after day after day,and only £8. dont waste any more time and energy worrying about them.
Treat yourself to some Assos bib shorts, sorry, probably not a good idea, you will die of shock when you see the price.

Do you use fabric softener - that can make the lycra go manky. But agree with others, time for a new pair and washing every day seems excessive, are you riding several hours?

Personally, I like Pearl Izumi
