Hi folks, a couple of questions - or bits of advice sought really.

First up, I have a Giant Boulder which has Suntour XTC front forks (think thats the name on them), and they do seem to have developed a bit of a squeak. Is there a method for greasing/oiling or similar to get rid of this - I guess it is either that or hang some cheese close by and see if a mouse pops out ;)

Secondly, after a 20 mile round trip in drizzle and cold wind I have developed a rather sore elbow - I am putting it down to the fairly fixed position of the arm for approx an hour at a time and the cold. Is this a common problem? Does it improve the more you ride? Or would I be best to rest it up and then get some arm warmers to try and keep out the cold in future? (I had on a t-shirt and windproof jacket during the ride.)

All help and info greatly appreciated,

Cheers

Can't comment on the elbow, but the forks need some lube. any old oil will do, just a little dribble on the stanchions will do. Stanchions are the bit that slides in and out of the bottom part of the forks.

Never heard of this before!

Is it just the one elbow or is it both?
If its just the one then are you doing anything different with your other arm (assumingyou have two arms)?

hiya,

Just the right elbow, can't say it does anything different from the left (apart from raising pint glasses and the like ;)).

It is gradually getting easier - 2 weeks now, and I am thinking it is something like 'tennis elbow' (possibly aggrivated my elbow with some hammering the week before and the cold wind finished the job off), or just me getting old  but I think for sure I will be keeping it warm in the future as well as shifting position more often.
