A bit blue. Miles needed?

Feeling quite low at the moment which isn't like me. I've had a bad head cold for a week or so and before that work and weather stopped any cycling miles for a week. Work is stressful and non stop but that isn't really news. I've phoned in sick for today because of how i'm feeling. I've been moping round the house all day, the wife is at work and the Golden Child is visiting family for Easter. I got a call from Hewitt Cycles today to tell me my new bike will be ready to pick up next week and even that didn't lift my mood. I hope I just need to get some miles done because I really don't like feeling this way.

Cycling is the antedote for many things for me, I sure if you decide right now that you will get up early tomorrow and go out for spin you will feel all the better for it.

Snap. I had a bad first three months of the year but hey it is only March. I intent to start again on 1st April with the arrival of Summer Time despite the on-going cold weather.

Get that new bike, post some pictures and get some miles in :bicycle:

It'll pass MAC, there's a lot of it about this year.
Ive had a hacking cough since Xmas eve. Its JUST about better now but i;m still carrying some pain in my ribs when i breathe deep (from all the coughing i think) and ive still got a bit of a crackle in my lungs.
My old squash buddy, whos a bit older than me has had the same cough for 3 months. So many people at work have been struggling, it seems a common theme.
Perhaps the crud summer has just made everything(and everyone) so grey.
Only done perhaps 200 miles at the very most in the last 4 months...truly shocking but like you, i just cant find the will and yet get aggravated at not getting out there.
Couple of weeks....its all turn round.

I had my first full week off cycling by choice for two years this week, well not really by choice trying to let the antibiotics shake off this cough. Bike is looking almost as forlorn as me sat at work where I left it to go to the Docs last Friday afternoon. Going to pick it up Saturday. I seriously have missed cycling everyones noticed my lack of endorphins!!

i am lucky as week of next week dragged an old Marin out of the shed and have told the daughter that we will be doing a ride along Weymouth prom every day .

and with less than a month to go before doing a 26 mile bike we both need the miles in

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Chin up !
start planning when and where you will be riding when the weather gets better on your new steed , i have not been out for a good ride in over a month due to family and i am bouncing off the walls but sometimes you need to just take a step back and realize how lucky you are.

I'm languishing at home when I should be at the end of a TNRttC. This is the end of the third week of not being out on my bike as I've not been able to dislodge a stinker of a cold. It's a tad frustrating but attempts to self medicate with copious amounts of rum, whisky, brandy and Southern Comfort, while unsuccessful, have elevated my spirits (sic).

I've just adjusted my employment which will affect my sense of well being in a significant way in September and the weather has been 5hite.

But hey! It's Spring. The day light hours are increasing. The roads are clearing. Temperatures will rise. Lungs will clear. Pies will sacrifice themselves in my pursuit of populating my pie chart moribund moods evaporate.

I'm nursing an Akvavit induced post birthday hangover and once it clears I'm off out to explore the new Trinity Shopping Centre only for its architectural merits and not it's ability to part me from my money.

Things can only get better.

Had a good chat with my wife last night, woke up this morning after (i think) an unbroken sleep, feel loads better physically and mentally, have resumed for work, looking forward to picking up my Hewitt Chiltern next week. Still missing my daughter but I know she is having a great time and is in good hands. Life is OK and i've not even been out on the bike yet!

Thanks for all the support guys.

That is good news MaC and uplifting to read. Thank you.

No remember when you set yourself some goals/targets that wonderful quote from Samuel Beckett

“Ever tried, ever failed, no matter. Try again, fail again, fail better.”

As my friends from the south of the island of Ireland. It will be 'grand'. Some days it a 'grand/grand' day some days just 'grand' and the odd day it an 'OMG type of grand' day but as CyberKnight said Chin Up
