96/97 Eddy merckx corsa extra( verschueren?)

I recently purchased this Eddy merckx Corsa extra but I'm a little confused with the name that is etched into the top bar right underneath the saddle is there anyone who can help me with that it would be greatly appreciated

Can't see anything etched as the pic is too small. Does show the stem so far out it can't be good....

Do you mean on the tapered seat stay?
A close up would help.

That stem is not for the bike.

There is an EM logo on the seat stay cap I guess

Stem wrongness aside, that's a really nice looking bike.

When overhauling it, be aware it has an Italian BB shell. Both sides unscrew anti-clockwise.

If it is etched it may be the name of the original owner (as the name of the shop would be on a transfer and then most likely either on the teat tube or the chainstay)
