to be able to ride 900 miles in 8 days! (with small panniers - credit card can take the weight!)

In the past I have cycled a few 100 milers, the most was 3 in 3 days, but not really ridden much for the last 4 months.

Been on the turbo a couple of times this last 7 days, and undertaken a couple of 35 mile rides, to get my backside used to the saddle again.
I've no weight to lose, but naturally am going to need to take in plenty of food of the right types at the right times.

So, intensive training for 9 weeks... is it do-able or am I kidding myself?

If you dont push yourself at a stupid speed and pace yourself it's absolutely achievable. If your planning on doing this in the beginning of April then all you will need is some kind weather to make it more pleasant!

Take your training seriously and sensibly and it should be fine. Don't over-train though.

if Eddy Izzard can do those silly amount of marathons in a row with no previous running experience, then I'm sure 900 miles in 8 days is do-able, just don't go wild on the pace

i've just done 10 weeks on a placement which meant i was doing very very hilly 32 miles commutes every day, in any weather. the difference in my fitness at the end of those ten weeks is incredible (i.e, my before and my after), so i think it is doable, especially if you don't need to push hard to get the miles in, in silly short times. hope that helps.

left the truck at home and cycled the 42 mile round trip to the office today, so I reckon if I do that 3 times a week with a weekend blast added in I should be putting in 200 miles a week.

I'll have to try and schedule a couple of 100's in about 6 weeks time, but am less concerned than I was.
