no torque wrench so how much is this? it's a carbon railed saddle so don't want to go too crazy

my handlebar stem says 5 Nm which can't be very much at all
BB cups say 40 Nm which must be very tight
Cassette lockring 35 Nm, again pretty tight

I'm guessing with a 3 mm allen key, it's just using the fingers?

my handlebar stem says 5 Nm which can't be very much at all - Tighter than you would imagine
BB cups say 40 Nm which must be very tight - Pretty tight but probably not as tight as you imagine
Cassette lockring 35 Nm, again pretty tight - As above

I'm guessing with a 3 mm allen key, it's just using the fingers?

With a carbon railed saddle, I would ensure it is torqued to spec, i.e. stump up for a wrench or get LBS to torque it up.

you can buy a small set of spring sales - the sort anglers hang fish from, a legnt of tube and a rule - you can work out hte lb/ins or N/m fairly easily.

Every time I need a new tool, I just buy it. This means that I can do every task to maintain my bike by myself without having to rely on a 3rd party.
