I have an 8 speed cassette on my hybrid, but tend to use the top two mostly, i.e. 7 and 8. Therefore these two gears wear out much more quickly than the rest. Strangely, on 8 speed cassettes, the first six are joined, but these last two come separately, which makes me think you can replace them individually. However, I cannot find a 11t or 13t gear anywhere that fits standard SRAM cassettes. Is there a reason for this, and does anyone know if they can be bought? I suspect it could be to do with chain wear etc??? Furthermore, why are the top two rings separate from the rest?
