700 hybrid wheel question

Hi All

My Specialized Crosstrail Comp is fitted as standard with alexrims ctd700c double wall wheels and Specialized Borough xc 700x45 tyres. I also have a 26" MTB wheel set if I want to change out.

Never having road bikes (always MTBs) I am a little ignorant on 700's, can anyone recommend an upgrade wheel ?. Will I be able to fit the 45 tyres to any 700 wheel ?

My hybrid bike was purchased with 45mm tyres on 700mm wheels with 17mm internal rims. I think they were ok but I swapped them for 35mm.

Have a look at the red and green table near the bottom of this page.

Upgrade wheel? Build one yourself. Seriously. This will give you all the necessary skills.

Thanks sincerely for the replies, the wheel tables are particularly informative. I don't think I am at the point of building my own wheels yet PpPete but it is something I intend to tackle in the not too distant future
