Is it possible to use a 7 speed freewheel MTB on a Tacx Flux S?
Very new to all of this, can you use a 7 speed cassette and spacers? Anything else that I would need? New chain/ derailleur?
affordable compatible bikes are difficult to come by at the moment.
Yes. Actually. My 7 speed MTB tuns on Mavic CrossRide wheels, which has a 8,9,10,11 speed freehub. I put on 2 x 3mm spacers first, then the 7 speed cassette. You will have to slightly adjust your indexing.

The old fashioned 7/8 speed is quite adaptable/bombproof ! I was running my 653 Ribble on Ksyrium wheels on 7 speed, but splashed out on new 8 speed down tube shifters.
