Hi all,

Just looking about to see what size road frame I should get. I'm looking at getting a fixie for work and a road bike for the weekends.

I've tried a friends Eagle fixie with a 56" frame and that feels too small - even with the saddle high I feel like my legs are squashed on the upstroke if that makes sense - so maybe a 57/8 might be better.

Any info would be appreciated.

cheers

I am the same size and have a 56 cm allez and it is perfect fit.

I'm 5' 11' with a 33 inside seam and prefer 57 and 58cm frames. I find the top tube measurement to be more critical factor than seat tube length.

To my cost I have discovered that 56 frame with a 56 top tube to be too small whereas I can get comfortable on a 56cm with a 57 cm top tube but a 58 cm top tube is just too long.

I'm 6'1" with an inside leg of 32" and rode a 58cm when I last rode a road bike - but it's more complex than that...

As mickle said it not just about the length of the seat tube, i have a 30.5 inside leg and i ride a 52 or a 54 cm dependent on the length of the top tube.
Best to go try the bikes and see what feel the best.
