The enemy has ridden over 6500 miles on her bike, a Trek Madone 3.1, its not usually ridden in the wet, and it's is cleaned thoroughly very regularly. It has had three chains, a couple of tyre changes, and on Sunday we serviced the rear hub, with a new axle and bearings.

Everything seem to be ok on it, and she loves the bike. Would it be sensible/ necessary to change or renew anything else on the bike?

EDITED.

Totally depends on how it rides, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Check the rims for wear - 6,500 mostly dry miles with regular cleaning and maintenance should mean that they still have plenty of life left in them, but it's worth getting in the habit of checking every now and then.

Have a look at the sprockets and chainrings for wear as well. Brake and gear cables can fray.

Other than that, if the bearings run smoothly and there isn't any play in the headset/cranks/bottom bracket/hubs then you should be fine
