500 Mile Barrier

This morning's ride out took me through my first 500 mile barrier since I got back on the bike mid June.

Only complaint is that my weight has levelled out, however I feel much fitter in myself and my body is starting to shape up nicely. Stomach is slowly flattening (what a difference that little letter 'L' makes) and already there's not an ounce of fat on my legs.

I would still like to shift another stone or two and hoping that the next 500 will see me some way towards that target

Nice, I've only cycled 448km (279miles) as of yet, I've only just started getting into longer rides (as my immediate area is really hilly which is disheartening).

When I first started riding my legs were pretty much muscle-less, apart from a few hikes I never did much on my feet, then I started cycling and I saw my legs start to shrink and all turn into muscle, the only part that isn't muscular yet is my inner thighs

. It is nice to go back and do rides you found really hard previously, the first time I rode I was completely knackered by about 4km, and every single day I ride past where I sat down due to tiredness (as it's a cycle path that leads to the neighbouring village, sustrans 7), I see myself sitting down there so tired thinking "I can't go on" and now when I ride past I'm not even breaking a sweat, it's nice to be able to see progression like that.

I take it you mean 500 mile in total and not in one go. If the latter I am selling my bikes now

Well done!

I've done 1140 miles since the 5th April... Weight coming off nicely too!

Try calorie counting too? If you input less calories than you burn, you'll lose weight ;)
