I still remember the day. I was listening on the radio and couldn't believe what had happened. A great rider in spite or the "darker" practices of the times.

In many ways those 'darker practices' seem almost to have an air of innocence about them compared with the deeply plotted Frankenstein style of cheating that was so widespread during the Dark Ages of Pantani and Armstrong.
