400 Years to Repair CEC Roads. 😡

Having ended up in Hospital with various broken bones this summer due to a Cheshire East pothole this article exposes the extent of the problem. I fear it will make little to no difference.
I am contemplating allocating one ride per month to simply report road defects.

400 years to replace them all, not repair them. Still a problem because the expected lifetime of a road is about 12 years if you do nothing and only about 20 if you do something like the infernal chippings every 4 years from year 7 onwards (I may have forgotten the exact timings of chippings and current best practice may be different to what I was told a decade or so ago anyway.)

Is no-one willing to point out that if they close some of the roads to the most damaging, heaviest traffic, plus reduce the amount of damaging traffic that uses other roads (through measures like Superblocks, 20-minute neighbourhoods and modal shift), then it need not take decades to repair them?

It ain't the farking cycles which are grinding holes in the tarmac.
